Artists Space is pleased to present the fourth installment of the durational performance series When Time Becomes Form curated by Marina Abramovic.

The piece A Letter for the Girl Chewing Gum, presented at Artists Space, brings us closer to Daniel Mueller-Friedrichsens video, text-based works, and his focus on the narrative. His approach resolves the borders between performance-documentary and cinema, emphasizing this theme through repetition. The participants and the public audience have a sense of their own performance, while the characters in the film also appear live on stage. Unexpected relationships are created by the film and music, raising the question: is it a film, is it theater, an audition, or a concert? Audience members take part in the opening scene, an interpersonal display of relationships that center on love, loss, desire, obsession, and memories, all while simultaneously dealing directly with the concept of film-making itself. The movie will be shot and edited during the five days of the performance.
