Emily Jacir’s work spans a diverse range of media and strategies includingfilm, photography,
installation, performance, video, writing and sound. She is the winner of the 2008 Hugo Boss Prize.
In 2007, at the 52nd Venice Biennale she became the first Arab to receive a Golden Lion Award.
She was also awarded a Prince Claus Award from the Prince Claus Fund for Culture and Development, The Hague.
In 2002, Jacir conceived of and co-curated the first Palestine International Video Festival in Ramallah.
Recently she curated a selection of shorts; Palestinian Revolution Cinema (1968 – 1982) which is currently on tour in
the United States. Earlier this spring, Jacir’s work was featured in a solo exhibition at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
