This series of works is based on television schedules from local newspapers. With these pieces I was interested in exploring the idea of watching, not as a passive endeavor, but as an activity that is a movement through time and narrative (mental) space. I tried to imagine the TV guide as a three dimensional configuration and picture how the viewer might move (watch) through this formation creating an individualized trace structure with his or her choices. With these small blocks of time the viewer creates unique spaces to pass through which can be inhabited through memory. I am interested in the idea of individuals building something as they watch, something that gives form and comfort to their daily lives.
