My paintings make reference to the products and pollution of our synthetic culture: art, music, television, cyberspace, news, video-game-like images of war, violence, and disaster, advertisements, comic-books, fashion, graffiti, old and new, high and low, sublime and vile. Cheerfully apocalyptic, the work is intended to simultaneously attract and repel, with references to both beauty and toxicity, as in the supersaturated colors of a smoggy sunset.
