Artist's Statement

In my work, I observe the fragments of life and analyze the patterns of psychological and social behaviors. The relevance of my work is mainly social; the subject matter is diverse raising questions about migration, relationships, family, identity, memory, sexuality, desire and needs. In the last three years my art concentrated on video installation, creating an alternative, both in space and form, for experiencing time based media.

In the video work I use digital imagery manipulated by non-linear editing, exploring fragments of an action that repeats in time. I manipulate the reality, adding elements of humor and fantasy. I use my own image as a point of reference to reflect a generic emotional state within a visual language. Most of the video works avoid a linear narration, allowing the viewers to create their own individual narrative. Influenced by dance performances, I am interested in the viewer's navigation of visuals in space and time.
