The title indicates
the theme of the work, a satire on the mass media. In Japan, sexual expression
and suggestive text are so commonly adopted to the adverts on the newspapers
or those in the trains to increase the sales so loudly to the extent of
showing no moral.
I posted cutups of such texts on the wall of the gallery, which were taken
from the adverts inserted in the Asahi Shimbun, the famous quality news-paper,
not from the adult magazine or the tabloid. I thought that I could make
the situation more exaggerated by showing those texts on the wall of the
advertising agency that produces adverts for their living.
Furthermore, I took advantage of that there is President Room at the back
of the gallery to decide the installation, and set a printer in his room
which keeps printing out such sexual texts.
Luckily he was not Japanese and does not understand the meaning of them.
I take in President working normally into the work.
(The video situated in the middle of the gallery shows many women to whom
I asked to read obscene texts flooded in our society. It was taken not
to show the faces of those women and their voices were changed likewise
the TV program on which the people talk about their very private stories.
